What about adoption?
What is an open adoption?
Open adoption gives the birth mother (and father, if available) the chance to become a part of their child’s life with the adoptive parents. Today, many adoptions are open, but no two are the same.
Families decide the details: how often photos are sent, whether visits happen, and which contact information is shared. Some plans are mostly letters. Some include holidays. You create the plan that’s right for you.
If full contact does not feel safe, a semi-open or closed plan may fit better. We will help you think through what you need.
